What is Baby College?
Baby College® offers weekly classes that promote the developmental growth of babies and their parents. The classes focus on enhancing parents’ understanding of their baby’s development and teach them practical ways to play with their baby at each milestone. These exercises encourage eye contact, sensory stimulation, emotional development, and bonding between the parent and child. Baby College® uses a holistic approach based on scientific research, which covers physical, neurological, communicative, and cognitive development. The program provides repetitive, gentle physical exercises, encourages language and communication skills, and offers various sensory games that nurture a fun environment for the child’s growth.
Baby College and Positive Parenting
Baby College® also offers positive parenting techniques that work well with every child, regardless of their age, temperament, background, culture, or tradition. Positive parenting techniques build children’s sense of self-worth and happiness while reducing the sometimes stressful demands of childcare. These techniques involve creating a good relationship with the child by showing love and affection, emphasising positive behaviour, listening to the child’s views, and avoiding harsh punishments.
Understanding your Child
Understanding why children misbehave is essential for effective positive discipline. Children naturally test the limits and boundaries enforced on them as they grow, learn and become independent. Parents need to recognise their children’s feelings and behaviours and respond appropriately, depending on their age and stage of development. Baby College® offers age-appropriate tips for positive discipline, such as being loving and comforting with babies, having clear and simple rules for toddlers, and encouraging independence in older children. The program helps parents understand their children’s unique needs and promotes a fun, nurturing environment for them to grow.
